Launch of the Veterans British Parliamentary Debate Training Project
/Team Forward Assist, Veteran Debaters and Students from Northumbria University were delighted to be invited to Speakers House on 19th December 2017 by the Rt Hon John Bercow MP, to launch the Forward Assist Veterans Debate Training Project. Thanks to funding from Marsh Global, British & American Tobacco and Virgin Trains East Coast, Forward Assist were able to take a group of Trustees , Staff ,Veterans & Students to London and stay overnight at the Union Jack Club. A great time was had by all with Patron Anne-Marie Trevelyan MP opening the event followed by speeches from Forward Assist, including Students and Veterans involved with the project. It is the intention of the charity to roll out the Debate Training Project to other areas over the next 12 months and many of the supporters present agreed to assist in any way that they could. A huge thank you to all involved with making this wonderful, prestigious event happen. As one veteran said... "This is one Christmas I won't forget in a hurry".
