Unemployed Veterans get 'Mentoring Support' from Operation Fitness
Forward Assist has joined forces with outdoor fitness company Operation Fitness. John and Gavin, both former servicemen have established an award winning business and as part of the company's Corporate Social Responsibility agenda Operation Fitness want to support veterans that have just left the forces and help those that have struggled with the transition back to civilian life. They aim to give veterans 'one to one' support via a mentoring relationship and 'hands on' experience within their organisation by taking part in the sessions and by shadowing John and Gavin on how to lead and deliver the fitness training sessions. The training will take place over a six week period and it is our aim to enable the veterans involved to acquire the necessary qualifications so that they can find employment in the fitness industry. Wayne Bell and James Down have already engaged with the programme and found that their past military training and experience was ideally suited to this enjoyable activity.
