R.W Mann Trust funds Forward Assist Veterans Visit to the National Arboretum
The R.W Mann Trust funded a trip to the National Arboretum Remembrance Centre for thirteen Forward Assist Veterans in September 2013 . The veterans who were aged from 28-90 years had an early start and travelled down by mini bus stopping for lunch and refreshments on the way.On board soft drinks were kindly provided by Lowries. For many of the group the trip was all the more poignant as they were able to locate the names of friends and comrades lost in past campaigns carved into the fantastic memorial walls and scuptures. Steve Jackson a long serving Forward Assist volunteer organised the trip and reported that everyone that went along had a great day out despite it being tinged with sadness when remembering the loss of so may great close friends.
