Forward Assist Angling Academy Veterans 'Kitted out' by The Barbour Foundation
We are delighted to report that the 'Forward Assist Angling Academy Veterans' received a cracking donation of ten wax jackets from The Barbour Foundation. This generous act means that unemployed and/or homeless veterans are able to take part in the Angling Academy's year long activities in all weathers. All the veterans pictured are working towards the acquisition of Specialist Angling Coaching Qualifications in collaboration with the North East Regional Angling Development Trust Lead. The Veterans will then be able to share their skills with their peers and other disadvantaged community groups. Ed Turnbull Forward Assist’s qualified Angling Coach said
“This donation helps the lads get a group identity and that in itself gives them back their dignity and improves their self esteem. The fact that a local company such a Barbour has seen fit to support these guys is true testament to the respect the company has for those that have served their country and continue to serve the community, on behalf of everyone Thank you"
